Summer-Ready Guest Suites & Spaces

Will you be hosting overnight guests this summer? Besides the holidays, summer is one of the biggest seasons for traveling to visit family and friends. If you’re preparing for visitors, you might be brainstorming ways to get your home guest-ready.

When it comes to fostering hospitality, we think it’s the details that make people feel welcome. Being known makes us feel special and seen. For example, having someone’s favorite snack ready in their room, buying a bouquet of their favorite flowers, or surprising little ones with a basket of goodies, such as books, stickers, small toys, or treats.

Want more ideas for hosting in-laws, out-of-town family, grandkids, or other guests this summer? Scroll below for a brief list and a few photos for inspiration!

Style Spotlight Series: Eclectic Home Design

Today, we’re sharing the next chapter in our new Style Spotlight blog series. The first trend we explored was Coastal Design, and our next popular style is Eclectic Home Design! One of the more elusive styles to pin down, the chief rule of eclectic style is that there are no rules. Fun and surprising, this style is all about showcasing your unique taste and design personality.

Instead of adhering to one style, eclectic homes combine pieces from different periods and styles. With origins in the early 20th century, eclectic style was created by architects who didn’t want to feel constrained by a single design ethos. This trend then carried over into home decor and continues to be reinterpreted by designers.

While it may seem like anything goes to traditionalists, eclectic homes are still purposeful and planned. Although there’s no guidebook, some hallmarks that define eclectic style are mixing patterns, worldly or travel-inspired decor, combining old and new, bold use of color, and unexpected choices.

Style Spotlight Series: Coastal Design

We’re excited to kick off something new on the blog today: the Style Spotlight series! The first home trend we’re exploring is coastal design. Breezy, bright, and natural, coastal style stands the test of time. Originating in seaside vacation homes, coastal design evolved into an aesthetic that transcends the beach.

We love this style because it creates calm, classic, welcoming spaces. Who doesn’t want their home to remind them of a sunny day by the water? Coastal homes are relaxing, filled with the tones of sand, clouds, and sea, natural fabrics and textures, oversized windows that emphasize the view, and seamless indoor-outdoor spaces.

Many of our clients are drawn to this serene and sophisticated design palette. If you’re searching for coastal inspiration, scroll through the gallery below to see their beautiful variations on this captivating style!
